Custom Formal Wear Guide

Having dressed Dallas’ most discerning gentlemen for over 65 years, Mister Tuxedo understands the importance of quality and fit when selecting the proper tuxedo. Our custom offerings allow the customer to select every detail of his tuxedo, while ensuring a perfect fit. Expertly tailored in Canada or Italy, our custom clothing lines are cut from the highest quality fabrics from the finest mills in the world.

Step 1: Visit us in Store to Initiate the Custom Process

Please visit us in store (no appointment necessary) to initiate the custom process. Our staff will discuss your requirements, timeline, budget, and vision to determine what sort of garment you desire. We offer a wide selection of fabrics, linings, and trim available to produce almost anything you have in mind. Although we routinely produce traditional black tuxedos, we have made seersucker or linen suits, velvet dinner jackets, tails and morning suits, sport coats, trousers, and many other examples of tailored clothing.

Step 2: Fitting and Style Selection

We stock a full size-run of try-on garments to assist in the fitting process. At your fitting (which is generally whenever you first visit us), you will try on sample garments for basic fit. We will then take a series of measurements and make any adjustments necessary to tailor the garment to the unique nuances of your body. At the same time, you will select fabrics, linings, trim, and various other details. Our expert staff are available to assist in selections and provide timeless advice as desired. Your dimensions and style selections will be sent to our partners in Canada or Italy who will produce the garment in 4-6 weeks.

Step 3: Production

We have discerningly selected partners in Canada and Italy to produce our garments. These factories either remain family-owned or have been producing garments for over 100 years. Their close attention to detail and expertise ensures your garment will be produced to the highest standards. Please allow 4-6 weeks for your garment to arrive in store.

Step 4: Second Fitting

We will notify you as soon as we receive your garment from our factories. You will then come in for a second fitting, at which time you will try on your garment. Our in-house master tailor will make any additional adjustments necessary.

Step 5: Final Fitting and Pick-Up

Once our in-house master tailor has made any necessary alterations, you will try on your garment for a final fitting to ensure everything is tailored to your liking. Our goal is for you to leave our store with a garment you look forward to wearing for life’s most important moments.
